In today’s world we worry about being scammed all the time and with good reason. In the first 6 months of 2021 approximately two thirds of adults in the UK (36 million) have been targeted by a scammer according to Citizens Advice.
I personally receive several scam phone calls and text messages each week, I feel I get targeted more as I am a business owner and its easier to get hold of some of my information.
A relative of mine who is very conscious of scammers was recently targeted and he lost thousands of pounds over a phone call.
We will NEVER ask you for your bank details. In fact, in this day and age, nobody should be asking for your bank details, especially if its someone you don’t know. There are plenty of warning messages in online banking these days about not giving out your sort code and account number.
We use two of the world’s largest online payment companies to process our payments, PayPal ($95 billion) and Stripe ($25 billion).
- If you choose to pay by PayPal, log in and PayPal will create a recurring payment on your account. You can cancel this by going into recurring payments in your settings area.
- If you choose to Pay via Stripe, they will ask you for the long card number on the front of your card, the expiry date, the CVC number, and your postcode. You can cancel this by logging into your Mathinar account and going into settings.
Never give your bank or card information to anyone that says they are calling from Mathinar, WE WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION.
Conclusion
